Osteopenia is the pre-osteoporosis state. It’s when our bone density score shows some bone loss, but not enough to be labeled osteoporosis. Thinning bones are a risk factor for experiencing a major bone break, such as a hip or spine.

Most people think of osteoporosis — a condition characterized by a loss of bone mass and density — as mainly a health problem for older women. If you’re male, you may have breathed a small sigh of relief — or simply tuned out — whenever osteoporosis came up. It wasn’t a disease you needed to worry about. It is well known that loss of estrogen causes osteoporosis in women. In men, reduced levels of testosterone may also cause osteoporosis. For both men and women, as our hormones decline, so does our bone strength.

So, what is our best defense? Optimizing your hormones with natural Bio-Identical Hormone Pellet Therapy, weight-bearing exercise, optimizing Vitamin D, and a healthy diet is a good place to start.

Having the constant delivery of the hormones creates a perfect environment for Testosterone to rebuild bones. Testosterone has been proven to rebuild bone!

One of the greatest joys of my practice is hearing a patient tell me about how their bone density tests have improved after a year or two of pellet therapy! Seeing the improved bone density reports is so rewarding.

At LowTE Florida® we provide individualized treatment based on your biochemistry and your medical history using Bio-Identical pellets. My system is grounded in science, not guesswork. For more information, go to: LowTEFlorida.com or call 954-791-4498.

According to the Population Reference Bureau, the number of Americans ages 65 and older is projected to increase from 58 million in 2022 to 82 million by 2050 (a 47% increase). The CDC warns us that as the population ages and disability worsens, it is critical to understand the physical and mental health burden placed on 53 million US adult caregivers who care for a spouse, elderly parent or relative, or special needs child.

Caregiving, no matter to whom, is a challenge that impacts caregivers’ personal and professional lives in multiple ways, including his/her ability to work, engage in social interactions and relationships and maintain good physical and mental health. The average age of a caregiver is 49 but nearly 10% are also seniors. There’s also been a dramatic increase in the time people spend caregiving. Caregivers spend an average of 24.4 hours a week providing care, but 23% spend more than 41 hours per week.

Considering the current caregiving landscape, it’s crucial for us to acknowledge the pressing necessity of supporting immediate family members who bear the heaviest responsibilities. In my experience assisting caregivers, I’ve heard a recurring sentiment: “I yearn for my family’s help, whether it’s lending a hand with tasks or simply providing some time for me to rest. Even small gestures would make a significant impact on my well-being.”

“Let’s conclude with a call to action: “Family members, become the pillars of support your family caregivers deserve. By extending a helping hand and offering your time, you can transform their journey from one of solitude to a shared triumph of love and care. Together, you can lighten their load and illuminate their path with the warmth of family solidarity.”

Our muscles change with aging – due to a loss of important hormones. The technical term is Sarcopenia, and it is a progressive, age-related loss of muscle mass, strength, and motor function. In my practice, I have seen wonderful body changes due to hormone optimization. One man comes to mind that started with HRT a few years back – he came in with his Tommy Bahama shirt untucked and hanging. A year later, he came in wearing a tight t-shirt showing off his healthy-looking chiseled “guns”!

Without optimal testosterone, you cannot build muscle. You can tone and keep what you have, but you can’t build muscle. Having nice strong muscles as we age is key to healthy aging.

So why take Bio Identical Hormones? Because they allow your body to feel and function as it did maybe 10-15 years ago. Restoring your youthful hormone balance is paramount to feeling and looking your best – no matter our age. Some symptoms of decreased hormone levels include difficulty sleeping, lack of energy, loss of mental focus and memory, feeling moody, anxious, depressed. Many people notice weight gain, decreased muscle strength, joint pain, and reduced sexual desire and performance.

Bio-Identical Hormones are derived from plants (Bio) and have the identical molecular structure (identical form) as the hormones we naturally produce in our bodies. Despite efforts to discredit Bio-Identical Hormones, the scientific research keeps getting better and better, proving not only the quality-of-life benefits but the health benefits of maintaining optimized hormonal balance. The latest studies are showing that utilizing our system over time may decrease cardiac issues, osteoporosis, arthritis, Alzheimer’s, Dementia and even breast cancer.

If you’ve ever been in the thick of a crisis at work, you know that it can feel like you’ll never quite be able to get out! But what if you could turn to an unlikely source for guidance? Enter Ted Lasso, the lovable, optimistic coach from the hit TV series. Ted’s unique approach to leadership, crisis and communications management offers valuable lessons that will help you navigate the ups and downs in the office.

Embrace Optimism

One of Ted’s most endearing qualities is his unwavering optimism. When faced with a crisis, it’s easy to get bogged down by negativity and panic. However, maintaining a positive outlook can help steady the ship. Optimism isn’t about ignoring the problem; it’s about fostering a mindset that focuses on solutions. In a PR crisis, this means acknowledging the issue, communicating transparently with your audience, and reassuring them that steps are being taken to resolve it.

Communication is Key

Ted’s ability to connect with his team through open, honest communication is a cornerstone of his success. Similarly, in crisis communications, clear and transparent messaging is vital. Whether you’re addressing a data breach, a legal dispute, or a public mishap, you must prioritize honest communication. Provide regular updates, answer questions promptly, and avoid jargon that could confuse or alienate your audience.

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

Ted Lasso’s emphasis on teamwork is another crucial lesson for crisis management. No one person can handle a public relations crisis – or any crisis for that matter! – alone; it requires a coordinated effort from your entire team. Establish a crisis response team that includes members from various departments, including legal, communications, and IT. Ensure everyone is on the same page and understands their role in the crisis response plan. This unified approach can help mitigate damage and ensure a swift, effective response. Learn and Adapt In the series, Ted often reflects on his mistakes and learns from them. This adaptability is absolutely essential. After the crisis has passed, conduct a thorough review of what happened, how it was handled, and what could be improved. Use these insights to refine your crisis communications plan, ensuring you’re better prepared for future challenges.

Stay Human

Finally, Ted Lasso’s humanity and genuine care for others are traits that can greatly benefit everyone in the office. Show empathy and understanding towards those affected by the situation that has arisen. Whether it’s your clients, customers, or employees, acknowledging their concerns and demonstrating that you care can go a long way in rebuilding trust. By channeling your inner Ted Lasso, you can navigate crises with grace and effectiveness. Embrace optimism, communicate clearly, work as a team, learn from your experiences, and stay human. These principles not only help manage the things that go wrong, but also strengthen your organization’s overall resilience and reputation. So next time a storm hits, remember: Be a goldfish. Forget the mistakes quickly, learn the lessons and keep moving forward with a smile. Ted would be proud.

I can’t tell you how many times I have heard this – it is music to my ears. I often think about how unfair it can be that people experience significant changes as their hormone levels naturally decline with age. So, the person you married is no longer the same person (mood swings, anxiety, depression, low libido, etc.).

However, when we optimize hormones, I hear time and time again – “I feel so much better, I like myself better, my partner likes me better and life is good again!” Many people have told me that after their bio-identical hormone treatment, they feel more like their “old self,” and their relationships are much better.

So why take Bio-Identical Hormones? Because they allow your body to feel and function as it did maybe 10-15 years ago. Restoring your youthful hormone balance is paramount to feeling and looking your best – no matter your age. Some symptoms of decreased hormone levels include difficulty sleeping, lack of energy, loss of mental focus and memory, moodiness, anxiety, and depression. The latest studies show that utilizing our system over time may decrease cardiac issues, osteoporosis, arthritis, Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and even breast cancer. We have two researchers producing studies showing a 30-40% decreased risk of breast cancer using our system.

Since the early days of the internet, blogging has completely transformed from a platform for sharing personal stories into a powerful business tool. It’s not just important—it’s essential for any comprehensive marketing strategy. Here, I’ll break down why blogging has become a vital component of any business’s digital footprint.

1. Establishing Authority and Credibility. A well-curated blog is a showcase of your expertise. By regularly publishing high-quality content tailored to your niche, you position yourself as a leader in your field. This not only builds trust with your audience but also sets you apart from your competitors.

2. Driving Traffic to Your Website. This is a big one! One of the most effective ways to enhance your website’s visibility on search engines is through blogging. Each new post is a fresh page indexed by search engines, increasing the chances of your site appearing in search results. Optimizing your posts with relevant keywords attracts organic traffic from individuals seeking information in your industry.

3. Enhancing Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Blogging is a cornerstone of any robust SEO strategy. Consistently publishing fresh, relevant content signals to search engines that your website is active and authoritative. This improves your search engine rankings and boosts your online presence.

4. Generating Leads. Every blog post is an opportunity to capture leads. By offering valuable content in exchange for contact information—such as subscribing to your newsletter or downloading a resource—you can expand your email list and nurture potential customers.

5. Building Customer Relationships. A blog allows you to connect with your audience on a deeper level. Through comments, social media shares, and email interactions, you can engage with your readers and address their questions and concerns. This creates a sense of community and loyalty around your brand.

6. Showcasing Products or Services. Blogging is an excellent platform to highlight your products or services in action. Whether through tutorials or case studies, you can demonstrate how your offerings solve real-world problems. This helps potential customers understand the value you provide, encouraging them to reach out or make a purchase.

7. Boosting Social Media Presence. Your blog can serve as a content hub for your social media strategy. Each post can be repurposed into social media content, driving traffic back to your website and increasing social media engagement.

For these reasons and many more, blogs are an awesome way to help your business enjoy increased visibility, credibility, and customer engagement. Happy blogging!

Chromium found in “Brewer’s Yeast” has repeatedly been linked to improved A1c levels. Despite the progress in modern medicine, diabetes continues to be a significant public health issue, with many individuals struggling to maintain healthy blood glucose levels with existing treatments. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that there will be over 300 million new cases by the year 2025.

A study published in the European Journal of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences (Batta) first considered that chromium could enhance glucose metabolism back in the 1950s, when brewer’s yeast, a source of chromium, was discovered to contain a glucose tolerance factor that prevented diabetes in laboratory mice. Chromium is found in various foods, including wheat germ, barley, grape and orange juice, green beans, broccoli, eggs, meat, and brewer’s yeast (yes, an ingredient in “beer”). More recently, chromium has been identified as a trace mineral linked to improved diabetes management.

Studies have shown that supplementing with 600 mcg/day of chromium picolinate significantly reduced HbA1c levels compared to a control group receiving no supplementation. Furthermore, chromium picolinate notably decreased both fasting and postprandial glucose levels.

Cardiovascular biomarkers also improved after chromium supplementation including total cholesterol, LDL, and resting heart rate. All these beneficial results, however, occurred with varying dosages and after differing periods.

Chromium has few negative side effects, and therefore, no tolerable level has been established, however further research is needed to determine which form of chromium, picolinate or nicotinate, will benefit type 2 diabetics and what dosage levels will produce positive results while minimizing the risks of toxicity. The recommended daily intake for men is 35 mcg and for women is 25 mcg.

Imagine my joy as I heard this on the national news morning shows! FINALLY! The world is catching on!

But as I watched the segments, I learned they are just re-analyzing the Women’s Health Initiative study data from 2002 on synthetic hormones. Since it was on synthetic hormones, they had to add that it is safe to start under the age of 60 due to the increased risk of heart attack, stroke, and deep vein thrombosis.

What they didn’t say is that Bio-Identical Hormones have not been shown to have any clotting factors that could lead to these events.

I have been starting women on Bio-Identical Hormones from ages 35-82 without any issues. Sure, life is going to happen – people are diagnosed with cancer, stroke, and heart attack with or without hormones. However, the latest studies on Bio-Identical Hormones show they are supportive for the heart, brain, bones, breast, prostate, and relationships!

So why take Bio-Identical Hormones? Because they allow your body to feel and function as it did maybe 10-15 years ago. Restoring your youthful hormone balance is paramount to feeling and looking your best – no matter your age.
